Hafa Adai, Tirow and Welcome to the website of the CNMI Department of Lands and Natural Resources, Division of Fish and Wildlife. The Division is tasked with conserving, protecting and enhancing the fish, game and wildlife resources of our islands for the benefit of the citizens of the CNMI. This website contains a wealth of information on our work to accomplish this through scientific research, monitoring, regulation, enforcement, planning and management activities that seek to ensure the long-term survival and sustainability of our marine and terrestrial wildlife resources.
Our work is greatly supported and enhanced by our federal partners, especially the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOOA) Office of Law Enforcement, the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program's Coral Reef Initiative, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service who provides funding and administrative support for the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program and other programs that are critical to our success. It was through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program that were able to bring you this new website that is designed to assist and encourage you to make the most of the many fishing, hunting and outdoor recreational opportunities available to you here in our islands.
The layout of the website will adjust to whatever device you use to view our pages, whether you use a desktop computer, laptop or smartphone. There are even field guides for identifying birds and fish, optimized for smartphones so you can view it with your iphone or droid while in the field.
I hope that you'll find the website valuable, helpful and perhaps even inspirational. We are please to join you as stewards of our islands' unique marine and terrestrial habitats and species. Working together, we can ensure that they thrive and continue to enrich our lives now and for future generations to come.
